What services do most Pros include in a cleaning?

While every home is different and every customer has different preferences, there are some fundamental areas where their desires are consistent. Customers often leave feedback saying that they’re primarily concerned with their floors, their kitchen, and their bathrooms. What's included in a regular cleaning?

The booking will indicate how many bedrooms and bathrooms are in the home, and which extras are added to the cleaning. The following should only be cleaned if the extra is added, or if it's a move in/out cleaning: Inside the fridge, Inside the windows, Inside the cabinets, Inside the oven. You must still clean the outside of all appliances and the rest of the home.

For extra-dirty homes

If the home that is being cleaned is extra-dirty, and the Deep Cleaning or Move in/out extra is not selected, please call the NW Maids Support Team before you start cleaning, and they will contact the client and ask if they would like you to focus on specific areas, or to add the 'deep cleaning' extra to their booking.

If you do not hear back, just work around it by cleaning around the messes to the best of your ability. In other words, do your best to clean the areas normally required for a regular cleaning (not a deep clean).

To ensure you are paid for any extra work, make sure the client approves the extra time with the NW Maids Support Team before doing any extra work. We can not add pay after the cleaning has been complete.

Dishes

If there is a dishwasher, our top Pros fill it and start a cycle. If the dishwasher is full with dirty dishes, they start the cycle.

Laundry

If the Laundry extra is selected on the booking, this means the client is requesting that you do 1 load of laundry (wash/dry). Our top pros will start this first, before they begin cleaning, in order to save time.

Clean the Entire Home

If the booking says 1 bed 1 bath, the customer expects you to  clean the whole home, not just the bedrooms. It says 1 bed 1 bath because that's how we determine the size of the home and how much to charge the customer.

If the booking mentions an hourly cleaning, the customer booked an hourly service and expects you to stay for the amount of hours indicated on the booking. If the customer wants more cleaning time, they must contact us so we can add it to the booking. If the customer doesn't confirm with us first, we can't add time later.

Miscellaneous Cleaning Tips from our Top Pros

  • The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is your friend. It will cut your cleaning time in half for bathtubs, sinks, countertops, and dirty walls.
  • A wet pumice stone will clean a dirty oven faster than any spray-on product.
  • Our biggest secret weapon? A powdered product called Bar Keepers Friend. Its active ingredient is rhubarb powder, which really cuts through grit and grime. It cleans glass-top stoves, counters, toilets, porcelain and more. Your sink will never be shinier.
  • To clean the microwave oven, microwave a cup of water with some baking soda in it until it's boiling. That eliminates odors and makes it super easy to wipe away all that stuck-on stuff.
